Chad Zimmerman, President

My journey in the building material supply business is more than just a career—it's a legacy. It all began in a small town in Michigan, where I grew up surrounded by lumber and the values my family instilled in me.

My great-grandfather started our family business in 1929, and for the next 80 years, my grandfather, father, and I proudly carried the torch.

From a young age, I was already exploring the world of building materials, as seen in these cherished photos of me playing in cabinets.

It was only natural that I would eventually find my place in the family business, learning the ropes from the ground up.
This photo with my dad and grandpa reminds me of the deep roots our family has in the industry. Together, we navigated the ever-changing landscape of the building supply world, adapting and thriving through the years. But by 2007, I was ready for a new adventure, so I moved from small-town Michigan to the bustling city of Chicago.

Those who were in the industry back then will remember what an interesting time it was. Despite the challenges, I forged strong relationships with some incredible people, leading me to partner with others in representing kitchen cabinet manufacturers. Our focus was on family-owned and operated manufacturers, a tradition I still uphold today.

I spent seven years servicing the Chicagoland area, falling in love with the design, the people, and the fast-paced nature of this business. It was also in Chicago that I met my amazing wife, Alix, a native of San Francisco/Oakland.
In 2014, I made the best decision of my life and moved to California. Alix and I have been building our life here for over a decade now, and in 2015, our son Oz joined us, bringing even more joy to our lives. We cherish the time we spend together as a family, exploring the Bay Area and being part of this vibrant community.

Shortly after moving to California, I founded CMZ Associates. Over the past 10 years, I've been retraining my brain to understand this unique marketplace. I've been blessed in countless ways, gathering vast experience that I now share with my friends, "my dealers."

I take pride in my roles as a consultant, trainer, and sales partner, helping you grow your business. If we've met before, it's great to reconnect.
